Organizing Basements demand a lot of physical energy

Today I organized a fairly large basement. I like organizing basements but I think they take a lot more energy and stamina then other parts of the house. We sorted things into these categories- keepsakes, garbage, donation, projects, for sale, for the interior designer, container store, and keep. I’ll often customize these categories because each family has different stuff. The keepsakes were things from her parents that were mementos from their life and era of time that she wanted to keep. The projects included things to repair as well as things to take to the proper recycling station. The “for sale” pile awaits us posting them on Craigslist or taking them to an ebay store. The decorating items needed to be available for the decorator to view. Finally the container store is the area I collect all the extra bins and organizing tools that most people have and buy to much of. Then we shop in our store before buying new containers.
