Donating Items to Chairity Part 2
Topics
Three great local charities are worth mentioning as we talk about donating items.
The first is Dress For Success. This organization assists low income women looking for jobs. It has more than 70 affiliates all over the country as well as Canada, Great Britan and New Zealand. They accept business clothing, coats, shoes, handbags, briefcases, and of course business suits. Search under “Affiliates” for a location near you.
The second is The Glass Slipper Project. This Chicago based organization provides financially needy high school girls with prom dresses. Donate formal wear, bridesmaids dresses, and accessories like shoes and purses and jewelry.
The third is The Book Rescue. This name is deceiving because this Glen Ellyn chairity takes not only school books but also school supplies, office supplies and teacher supplies to help Chicago Public School teachers who teach in poor neighborhoods. You can even donate crayons and a slew of other things. Check out their website. It is super helpful.
One not so local chairity that makes a huge impact in the US and abroad is New Eyes for the Needy. You can mail metal frames, unbroken plastic frames, sunglasses, and hearing aids to New Jersey where the chairity is located.
