My garage sale

Wow, what a weekend. I’m still exhausted and it’s Tuesday! We had a garage sale here at my house. Seven families crammed all their stuff into my 2 car garage, driveway, lawn and sidewalk. My new neighbors couldn’t believe how much stuff we had to sell. I must admit we were uber organized with out efforts-  every family had their own color tag for pricing, we had zones- a holiday table, an electronics table, jewelry organized on hanging pegs, and all our clothes hung the same way and were organized by type of clothing. All of this made our sale super approachable and easy for the shoppers to buy our stuff. It was an attractive display of clutter :) Our 13 signs, ad in the local paper, and colored flags helped in drawing large crowds.

The four of us that were actually present to sell the items did enjoy sitting outside both days and socializing. At one point my garage sale fanatic sister said that socializing is her favorite part about running a garage. And that it’s not about making a gobs of money. I tend to agree. I do admit though as I saw a few people by bags and bags of our stuff, I cringed. Our old clutter, most likely will become someone else’s new clutter. Ughh... That’s hard to swallow since I’m in the business of decluttering. I think this might have been my first and also last garage sale here at my new home.
