Organizing Quote #2- Author Chris Couch
OK, just one more. I know I shared a quote yesterday from the same author. But here’s another good one that you really should think about.
On Page 50- “Getting Organized is more about decision making than cleaning-up. You can clean up your office and get temporarily organized, but the clutter will quickly return if you don’t have good habits to consistently handle incoming items.”
Think through this logic for a minute. When a piece of mail comes through your door- many different decisions could be made- do nothing, leave it lie, shred it, recycle it, pay it, pass it off to your spouse, file it, read it, etc- just for ONE piece of mail! It can be exhausting if you have 30 pieces of mail in your mailbox. Get get at making decisions and you’ll get good at reducing paper clutter and piles. I like that theory.
