Latex Paint Recycling
Topics
Recycling paint can be tricky. Never ever leave paint in your garage. It changes the paint’s consistency and prevents the paint from being recyclable. Below is more information where you can recycle your latex paint. If you can’t recycle it, take off the lids and let the paint dry out before throwing it away. To speed up the process fill the cans with cat litter or sand. It will help dry out the paint faster.
If you have extra Latex Paint around your house the DuPage County Environmental Committee has set up FREE Latex Paint Recycling. If you have usable unwanted latex paint that has never been frozen nor mixed with other products and is less than 10 years, it can be recycled and reused by those who need it. Paint can be dropped off at the site listed below (check times & days) and know that it will be put to good use. The paint is filtered and re-blended to be used again.
