Why is it important that kids help mom organize or simply clean up around the house?
- It teaches responsibility. Kids need to learn that as they play, read, or perform crafts, that they need to finish what they started and put their belongings away. If there’s no restoration to order, they’ll never be order.
- It teaches structure. Believe it or not, structure is great for kids. If they know what to expect throughout the day and get into a routine, the easier it will be to keep order in the house.
- It affects their future. When your kids leave home for college, will they know how to organize their school work and the many demands that come during college life? Something as simple as doing their own laundry and putting away their clothes will have a huge effect on their small dorm space. Time management at home will also decide whether they will plan ahead to be on time for assignments, classes, and job interviews.
