The Power of a Good Filing System

I don’t normally toot my own horn but today I had a “wow” moment that solitfied once again in my mind why I LOVE being organized. Here’s what happened. I went to get my bike tuned up today because my sprint triathlon is drawing near. While I was in the shop, I asked the gentlemen to put on a spedometer my husband handed to me yesterday. It was in a bunch of pieces but he swore it worked, implying I should have it put on my bike. So after asking the gentlemen at the store to put it on he said there’s no point of pointing it on unless I have the directions and manual to program it. (He wasn’t familiar with the brand of spedometer I had).

Of course I was discouraged and didn’t think I’d have the paperwork to go with. A new one would cost $40. I didn’t want to spend money on something which I already had (like most of you would agree if you were in my shoes) so I resolved to come home and look in the ONE place where the manual might be- in my filing cabinet. I use FileSolutions to organize my files. So I went right to the red section which holds manuals and I looked in the one labeled Outdoor Manuals. Sure enough, after I sifted through the bike and grill manuals, I happened to come across my Schwinn Spedometer manual. Yippee!! I was thrilled and thought - it pays to be ORGANIZED! I’m a happy biker now- all ready to go bike riding.
