 Creating “zones” in a garage is the most important tip to remember. While organizing this garage, we came up with the following zones:

1. Yard tools

2. Garbage & Recycling

3. Holiday Storage

4. Shelving unit held 4 zones- each category got one shelf: gardening, auto, tools, & baby/kid gear

5. A second shelving unit held our biggest “zone"- Kitchen Overflow/Costco stuff 

And that completed our organizing of the garage. But, we weren’t done with our follow up work. We had a huge Craig’s List pile, a sort through pile (inside the house) and finally a dumpster pile for large items that we just couldn’t sell. Following up on those three things will tie up all loose ends and now 2 cars will fit nicely in this garage. Let the snow start falling!
