Apple’s Recycling Program

Recycling your iPod, iPhone, and MacBook Responsibly

Over the last six months, I’ve started seeing old, broken, or outdated iPods, Nanos, Shuffles, Mac laptops, etc. I thought it would be quite awhile before I saw anything like that, but old outdated Apple products are starting to show up and need to be recycled just like anything else. When I organize, I expect to see old records, cassettes and VHS tapes. But iPods and iPhones take me off guard. They are such the rage now and are in so many homes that soon it will be just as common as recycling batteries and old cell phones.

So there’s good news. Apple has a recycling program and a good one at that. If you mail in your old computer they will send you back an Apple gift card if the computer had any value. That’s pretty neat. If you recycle your smaller Apple devices you get 10% off a new one. It’s great to be rewarded for recycling!
