A Car for Organizing

I can’t believe November is over and we are already counting down just a few days before Christmas. This year my Christmas gift is parked in my car. For the last month we’ve been researching, test driving, and hunting down a car for me. This couldn’t just be any car, I really had to find a car that would fit what I do for a living that was the hard part.

While looking at and test driving cars with many salesmen, the first thing I would check out was the trunk and the loading capacity. They all thought I was crazy. Most people jump right in the driver’s side seat and they’re off. Not me, that’s important, but not most important. What’s most important is what I can fit in the trunk and how the trunk opens. Right of the bat, that eliminated many cars. Then there was the size factor, I couldn’t go too big nor too small. Too big, and then I couldn’t park it in downtown neighborhoods where parking is really tight. Too small, and I would be back to where I started... not having a enough space, as in my car right now.

I also noticed the salesmen and how they presented themselves. One gentleman was obviously super disorganized. Couldn’t find a pen and paper in his desk and when he opened the drawers things came falling out. Now that’s pretty funny. How do you expect to fill out paperwork when you don’t even have the paperwork or a pen? Then another gentleman was very organized, very systematic and completed all paperwork neat and orderly. Needless to say the organization factor of these salesmen never made or broke the deal. The price did, as it should.

So yesterday was my first day driving my new car to work. After organizing I popped my trunk, loaded my car and was off down the street. As usual I have voicemails waiting for me from clients and all I did was press a button and as I drove I listened to them come out of the speakers of the car. My ride is much safer because of hands free technology. Who would have a thought there’s a specific car to help a person working in a specific industry such as myself? I know I have found my day to be a little easier because of my new car.
