Organizing A Closet
Finishing Touches that Make a Big Impact
Last week I had the opportunity to dive into this organizing project. Is this a typical closet I come across? Absolutely. After emptying out the contents, we had our work cut out for us.
Sorting, Editing, Deciding, Folding, Replacing...We were left with a mound of trash , two bags of donate, and a fully functional large organized closet. The finishing touches made this closet stand out.
- A belt and tie organizer was a “must” purchase.
- Hanging clothes by type- dress shirts, polos, suits, etc.
- Hanging clothes by color. We found a lot of blue shirts, once we saw them hanging all together.
- The piles of stacked clothing on the shelves were actually very thought out (although they’re not perfectly folded...we ran out of time). One pile is nostalgic clothing, one is shirts worn “not so often” and the others are off season clothing. When seasons change, the contents of the dresser drawers will be swapped with these contents on the shelves.
- There was no need for new hangers since most of the clothes are dry cleaned.
- Sweaters fit perfectly in the sweater organizer we discovered while going through everything.
Send us a picture of your closet. What finishing touches help you stay organized?
