Organizing T-Shirts by Use
This summer I said enough is enough. I’m sick of all my t-shirts jammed in a drawer and mixed together. So I decided to divide them up and look at them not as t-shirts, but instead how I choose to wear them. Instead of mixing them and putting them back into the drawer I decided to use three different drawers for them. Surprisingly, it has worked. I don’t have a mess on my hands and I wear them more often. It’s also easier to decide what to wear and simpler when I put clean clothes away.
1. The first drawer was filled with t-shirts I sleep in and would never let anyone see me in them outside the house. You perhaps can identify with me. They are the shirts that are so soft, so old, and so comfortable you couldn’t possible part with them. I’m sure our husband’s wouldn’t miss them, but hey, every husband has their own stash as well.
2. The second drawer got the t-shirts I wear with shorts or jeans. These are the “nice ones” that are presentable and newer.
3. Then finally, there’s always t-shirts that are great for working out in and running in.
If at the end of them summer and fall, I haven’t worn a t-shirt, I know it’s time to let it go. It keeps the total count down and my drawers from getting overstuffed.
