A Mess is a Blessing... Sometimes
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Thursday, September 29, 2011
This blog post is based on a true story that recently happened in a country I can’t mention. For various reasons, this country bans certain religious activities and I don’t want to get anyone in trouble so I will be using code language and keeping names or figures pretty vague. The “organizing message” behind it is so ...
A Look Inside My Office
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Monday, September 12, 2011
While organizing paper or home offices, how I run and organize my office normally surfaces in the conversation. To me, it really reflects what I’m all about- no nonsense, straight forward simplicity. If it works, I don’t change it and if it’s not working I get rid of it. I’m not about fancy or astetics. That&rsqu...
Wedding Wishes
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Tuesday, April 19, 2011
My husband and I got married eight years ago and about four months ago we ended up watching our wedding video over with some family members. I agree, it wasn’t on the top of my to do list. It was actually very embarassing to watch. When I listended to and saw my dad’s toast I couldn’t believe what I heard. I don’t remember a...

A Car for Organizing
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Thursday, December 2, 2010
I can’t believe November is over and we are already counting down just a few days before Christmas. This year my Christmas gift is parked in my car. For the last month we’ve been researching, test driving, and hunting down a car for me. This couldn’t just be any car, I really had to find a car that would fit what I do fo...
An Organized Creation
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Monday, November 22, 2010
When I read the Creation story in Genesis 1, I can’t help but see our God as a God of order. He approached His work and His goal in a very methodical, systematic, organized fashion. God set an example of organization from the beginning of time. The first act He recorded was creation and the order of creation is flawless. Each new thing create...
The Push
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Tuesday, September 21, 2010
There’s a delicate difference between pushing someone and shoving someone. In my world of organizing, I can’t be too nice or a push over, but I can’t be a bull dozer or a train barreling down the tracks going 75mph. That is quite the balancing act and sometimes it is so hard to get it right. Each of us has a boiling…

Procrastinate or Push Through?
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Monday, November 2, 2009
No one really wants to procrastinate but we can all admit it happens to the best of us. Sometimes procrastination is an underlying theme or reason of why we’re not maintaining home organization. I often hear over the phone from clients “I’ll just wait for you to come Amber. Otherwise I won’t get to it or do it. “ Altho…
Organized Athletes
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Monday, August 17, 2009
Just yesterday, I completed my first sprint triathlon- a 1/2 mile swim, a 12 mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run. It was a ton of fun. On Saturday I went to register my bike and my packet, etc. They had talks through out the day for first time triathletes. So I sat in on the 3pm talk. After the presentation, the announcer introduced a woman who owns h…

My Saturday A.M.
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Saturday, July 25, 2009
This morning, I laid in bed contemplating what I’d do today. Nothing was scheduled, which is rare, so I thought, why not tag along with my sister and mom to garage sales. They always go, I never go. Anyways, I texted my sister, sure enough they were leaving at 8:45am. Ten minutes later my husband said he wanted to tag along and when we showed…

A look back at college
Posted by: Amber Kostelny-Cussen on Sunday, May 3, 2009
This weekend my husband and I went back to where we met- Taylor University. We hadn’t been back in a few years and a lot has changed like a new dormitory, prayer chapel bridge and little changes here and there. It was at Taylor I took a small business course (while completing my international business major) and at the end of the semester I s…
